Athens, G.A. — The Ice Dawgs will host Auburn University this weekend on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 at Akins Ford Arena. This is Georgia’s second series against the Tigers for the 2025-2026 season with the Bulldogs sweeping the first series in October. 

The Ice Dawgs are currently ranked No. 1 for the ACHA Men’s Division II Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference with the Tigers trailing at No. 2. Winning their final home series will solidify the Ice Dawgs’ No. 1 spot in the conference.

Sophomore goaltender Andrew Goldstein will start in both games this weekend with senior Isaac Haugen out due to injury. In game two of last weekend’s series against Niagara University, Goldstein maintained a 0.893 save percentage. Additionally, in the last series against Auburn, Goldstein saved 0.923 of shots against. He will play a critical role in securing the Ice Dawgs’ success this weekend. 

The game on Friday, Jan. 30 includes a double header ticket option with the Athens Rock Lobsters, the local professional team, with the Ice Dawgs playing at 4:30 p.m. and the Rock Lobsters following at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 is Senior Night for the Ice Dawgs, featuring player recognition prior to a 3 p.m. puck drop. There will also be a matchup between Ice Dawg and Tiger alumni at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
