Ice Dawgs Dominate Ole Miss

Cumming, GA — October 16, 2025

The University of Georgia Ice Dawgs delivered a commanding performance Thursday night at The Ice in Cumming, Georgia, defeating Ole Miss 5–1 in front of a spirited home crowd. The win marks a strong start to the weekend series between the two Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference rivals.

After a scoreless first period, the Ice Dawgs exploded offensively in the second, netting three goals and seizing control of the game. Just over a minute into the period, Spencer Watson opened the scoring with a slick finish, assisted by Declan Conway and Ryan Bailey. The momentum continued as Charlie Kerrigan found the back of the net a little more than two minutes later, with help from Dylan Punzenberger.

With two minutes remaining in the second, Ryan Bailey added to his assist tally by scoring UGA’s third goal, assisted by Bill Martin. The Dawgs entered the final period with a 3–0 lead and a firm grip on the game.

Ten minutes into the third, Watson struck again for his second goal of the night, assisted by Evan Moore and Zach Noll.

Ole Miss managed to respond with a goal of their own a few minutes later, cutting the deficit to 4–1, but it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum.

UGA sealed the win with a shorthanded empty-net goal by Evan Moore, assisted by Ryan Bailey, with just 98 seconds left on the clock.

Bailey finished the night with a goal and two assists, while Watson led the team with two goals.

The Ice Dawgs’ defense and goaltending were equally impressive, holding Ole Miss scoreless through the first two periods and limiting their chances throughout the game. Goaltender Isaac Haugen finished the night with 18 saves.

The teams will meet again Friday night, October 17, at the Ice Forum in Duluth, Georgia, where UGA will look to complete the sweep in front of their home fans.
